The Pisconte family; Edith, Andrea, and Jesus sit outside of the house that the Burners Without Borders built for them. Andrea was born with Hirschsprung's disease, which is a problem with the colon that required her to have a drain hole on her abdomen. The family lost their house in the quake and the fact that they were homeless combined with the sanitation problems left by the quake made it impossible to keep her drain from getting infected and keep her well fed. Living in their temporary shelter she was growing much slower than is normal for her age, but today thanks to their better living conditions she is much healthier.
